We return to Connemara to one of the most unknown peacefull place: the island of Omey. Never mentioned in tourist guides, this rocky island has many attractions. Uninhabited island, abandoned ruins, deserted beaches ... You will not find any tourists, nor soul that lives elsewhere.
Situated on the edge of Connemara in County Galway, a 20 minute drive from Clifden and a 15 minute drive from Cleggan, this island offers a great deal of tranquility, discretion and rejuvenation.
To get there, no need to take a boat: it is possible to venture on foot (or even by car) during the low tide through long stretches of fine sands.
