Ireland's first national park is also the largest in its 10,236 hectares of vegetation. Classified as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1982, the park is composed of glacial lakes, peaty waters, green forests and beautiful mountains. You will also find Ross Castle, the Muckross Abbey and Mansion, as well as sumptuous green forests, not to mention the waterfalls and exceptional wildlife of the park.
Located in County Kerry, departing from the town of Killarney, Killarney National Park has a geographic position highly regarded by travelers. Nearby you will find the Gap of Dunloe (beautiful valley between Macgillycuddy's Reeks and Purple Mountain), the Ring of Kerry and the Ladies View. One of the entrances to the National Park is near St Mary's Cathedral in the town of Killarney. Otherwise there are also other entries around the N71.
